TIDC (Murugappa group company)

Diamond chains are designed and manufactured by TIDC India, a part of the US $ 2 Billion Murugappa Group, one of the most trusted and respected business Groups in India. TIDC was started in 1960, to manufacture bicycle chains and the following decades were witness to our unprecedented growth and expansion. LTM Business Unit, the erstwhile 'L&T-McNeil Limited', is part of Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), one of India's largest engineering & construction conglomerate. It offers a wide range of Rubber & Plastics Processing Machinery & Custom Engineered Products. During the past 27 years, it has supplied 2000 units of various equipment to more than 20 countries, spread over four continents. WRENCH PDM solution is implemented here for achieving higher level of productivity through increased reusability and standardization. It helped the company to increase the level of internal collaboration. Also WRENCH is used as a configuration management tool.

1997: Kennametal Widia (I) Ltd, Bangalore

This was the first installation of Wrench® and was in the year 1997. The Engineering department possesses 21 Nos of AutoCAD 2000 Mechanical Power Pack licenses on a Local area network (LAN). Wrench was customised to manage the for Project information, BOM information, drawing numbering and revision procedure as per the WIDIA standards. The implementation was completed in duration of 8 months. Presently all drawings and documents generated in the design department are archived in the system on-line without physical archival of drawings and documents.

All existing manual drawings \ documents (Approx 1 Lakh) were scanned using an A0 size scanner and stored in the system. Physical drawings and documents were destroyed once they had been put into the Wrench® system. These drawings/documents are accessed on-line by other departments such as Shop floor, Planning, Purchase, Stores, Sales and Quality. Wrench® has been integrated with SAP R/3. Bill of Material and other related data is downloaded to SAP R/3 instantaneously. Order information is uploaded from SAP to Wrench. We are glad to inform you that the system is under use for the past 3 year and is working satisfactorily. (Enclosed appreciation letter)

Sundram Fasteners LTD (SFL) is part of the south-India based, TVS Group, the largest automotive component group in India. Sales of the group exceed US$ 1.7 billion, making the TVS group one of India's largest industrial houses. The WRENCH® systems handles the complete process laid out for development of a Product and its tool drawings. It also manages the revision of the Product and tool drawings automatically and archives them. This includes information such as enquiry, Cost estimation, Product drawing, Control Plan, Process flow chart, Process data sheet and, manufacturing control plan and product inspection layouts. The drawing and documents are simultaneously accessed on-line by the users across the enterprise. The software was customized to download information from drawings that are to be used for quality control and manufacturing documents.

Bharat Electronics Ltd., (BEL), is a US$ 500 million premier Professional Electronics Company of India. WRENCH has been implemented and customized to BEL process and requirement. Wrench is deployed in over 150 nodes and used by about 300 users. This is one of the largest installations of Wrench. Wrench today manages over 0.7 million drawings and documents and its revisions. The systems has been in use for the past one year.

TD Power Systems Pvt. Ltd., (T D P S) is in the business of setting up power plants and are also the manufactures of Generators of various sizes. This is joint venture company between Kirloskar group and Toyo Denki, Japan. Toyo Denki are the leaders in design and manufacture of Generators. Their designers do most of the designs and the designs for some of the critical components are done at Toyo Denki, Japan. Wrench handles the complete lifecycle of the project\product right from the proposal stage through Projects, Engineering, planning, manufacturing, quality control, purchase and stores.

Indian Space research organisation

We have implemented Wrench-Collab in centralised Mechanical Fabrication Facility of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Trivandrum. This order was bagged after a global tender and extensive evaluation of the software. This order was received on March 31st and was the software was implemented by Mid of May 2002. Wrench is to be extended to other departments that are interacting with this facility such as purchase, quality etc., for online checking, approval, release and raising Engineering change request. Based on the user feedback we have received a repeat order from Avionics division. By the end of this year we would be implementing the software across all the divisions of VSSC with approximately 500 users.
